With summer winding down, it’s time to think about classes again! A new venue will be added this season. Lyon’s Lake Restaurant http://lyons-lake.com/ will host a class entitled “Painting Lyons Lake in Watercolor” on September 26. Here’s just an example of the possibilities with a little bit of time, patience, and some wine! The class will run two hours at a fee of $20 for all materials and instruction. Subjects for this class are from Lyon’s Lake photo archives and some added by the instructor. This unique location provides beautiful lakeside views and delightful sunsets. The food is wonderful and so are the beverages. Class size is limited to twelve. Contact yankeefloral @ yahoo.com to reserve a space.
Waterford Harbor Farmers Market https://sites.google.com/view/waterfordharborfarmersmarket/home is another location my hometown location, is a delightful location for teaching on some Sundays during the market season. The next class will be Sept 7 and 8 during the Tugboat Rally. This is a “drop in” class of short duration with simple subjects to acquaint people to the medium.
Lovely people dock along our waterfront from all over the world. I was fortunate to have this brave woman try watercolor for the first time. She was extremely happy with her results. I was grateful to have met her! This format for me is one that I will continue for many years to come. This is Yankee Floral’s ninth season at the market and the fifth season instructing. Even if you don’t want to paint, come check out our offerings!
Later in the year more classes will be posted on the Yankee Floral facebook site. Please check in occasionally. Astral Journeys https://www.astraljourneyscenter.com/ in Albany will be hosting for a unique class on “Dragonflies and Butterflies” with the date to be determined. This is an example of what can be done in a two hour period with good paper, brushes, and paint! I hope to see some of you there!
